January 19th, 2012

EDGE TL220

The Static (SL)  / Mobile (ML) / Tracked (TL) vessel loader, is the newest addition to the EDGE range of mobile bulk handling equipment.

This highly versatile and mobile unit is capable of transferring up to 1,200 tons per hour of material, and can accept material direct from large dumping trucks or tipping trailers.

The Edge-Loader features a conventional belt design and large wide track mounted receiving hopper to facilitate loader filling. The mobility of the Edge-Loader is done using a diesel engine driven Powerunit including a remote control. The TL220 can also be supplied with a discharge conveyor with full 180 degree radial swing. The radial feature allows left/right movement via internal hydraulic drives allowing the operator to radial from any position, without stopping production.

These features, in combination with the (hydraulic height adjustment), makes the TL220 one of the most mobile and flexible loading solutions on the market.

The Edge-Loader handles multiple materials including: Crushed Aggregate, Top Soil, Bark, Coal, Sand , ash etc. The machine can be used in a huge variety of applications including discharging into: Ships, Barges, Train wagons, Crushers, Screens etc .

Options on the EDGE LOADER include, a hydraulically folding ramp, long discharge conveyor, wear resistant hopper liner plates, dust covers and full radio remote control operation.  The units also comes with a dual power option.

Key advantages of the EDGE LOADER are fast set-up time on site and ease of transportation.

This already proven machine adds to the comprehensive range of loading solutions, as well as stockpiling and feeder conveyors, shredders, trommels, etc offered by EDGE.

EDGE INNOVATE’S mobile bulk material handling systems are built to last, combining strength with the highest quality components available on the market.

Newly available to the EDGE FS-SERIES is the FTS 75 feeding and stockpiling system

EDGE - FTS75

In today’s current economic climate, it’s imperative that a company stays efficient in all areas of the business.  That requires not only having the right equipment, but also offering the right products.

Newly available to the EDGE FS-SERIES is the FTS 75 track-mounted / FMS 75 wheel-mobile feeding and stockpiling system

The FS-Series is designed to allow customers to efficiently stockpile bulk materials that would bridge and block conventional conveyors.

As with all EDGE products, the FS-SERIES conveyors meet the BS and ISO safety requirements.

The FS-Series provides high performance and easier handling of materials. Available with single and double deck vibrating grid options, the EDGE FS-SERIES is easily moved around site.

A unique advantage of the Edge Feeder Stockpiler is that it has a large capacity hopper that will deliver a steady flow of material onto the main stacking conveyor. The main conveyor in turn can deliver material to a crusher or screen or simply create large stockpiles. The fact that the unit can be moved easily from place to place has also made it popular around dock yards and ports. The ability of the main conveyor to fold downwards thereby reducing the output height when feeding material onto ships has proved to be a very popular feature.

The Edge Feeder Stockpiler, which is manufactured in N.Ireland, is rated (dependent on model) up to 1000 tons an hour.

Since its launch, the FS – Series has been steadily rolling off the production line, with many units on order and several sold into the regions such as Holland, Belgium, Sweden and South America.

The FTS75 is just one new addition to an ever expanding product range offered by Edge.

The company also manufactures:static conveyors; tracked and wheeled conveyors; truck/ship/rail loaders (static, wheeled and tracked); twin shaft shredders (static, wheeled and tracked); trommels (static, wheeled and tracked) and picking stations (static, wheeled and tracked).

Lee Williamson, sales manager for Edge says, “Our goal is to provide our customers with that particular solution which is not normally available”

Edge will be exhibiting for the second time at Hillhead in Buxton in June, 2012. This will provide an opportunity for individuals to check out the company and its innovative product offerings.

EDGE® global Sales Manager, Lee Williamson, commented;

“Keeping shipping costs down is a real bonus for dealers outside Europe. Hydraulic top folds are standard equipment features across the range and allow 2 no.stackers to be easily fitted in & out of a 40ft container, minimizing transport costs.”

The MS80 comes standard with radial axle and lattice section design for ultimate strength. The radial feature allows the integrated stockpiling conveyor to swivel through a radius of 180 degrees hydraulically.

EDGE® conveyors offer fantastic stockpiling capacities and ensure that the operator maximises the processing of materials by keeping screens, crushers and or shredders continually fed.

The MS80 is only part of growing range of new products offered by EDGE®.  EDGE®. Innovate will be exhibiting and show casing new products at the upcoming INTERMAT show and HILLHEAD 2012.

SLAYER providing the EDGE® for BCI Betriebs-AG, Switzerland

October 3rd, 2011

BCI of Switzerland have recently taken delivery of 2 Edge Shredders. The EDGE® Slayer plays a pivotal role for (BCI) Basel Chemical Industry in a 350 Million Euro land reclamation project.

BCI needed a machine which could shred huge volumes of material which was both highly volatile and potentially explosive.  Engineers from the EDGE® Design Academy worked closely with BCI, introducing some technological advances allowing the customer to maximize production while also minimizing the health and safety threat.

A unique feature of the EDGE® Slayer is that full machine operation and control is carried out remotely from a control room 100 meters away. The machine operates within an enclosed cover and is now providing a key role in the safe rehabilitation of the contaminated site by processing the excavated waste making it safe for incineration, eliminating the risks & damage from potential explosions.

From 1961 – 1976 this site, a former Clay pit was used by the local Chemical industry & Swiss army to dump waste. In 1976, the landfill area containing 114,000 tonnes of waste was sealed and covered with foliage. However over time this clay bowl began filling up with water, causing contamination to spill out. From 1986-1995 extensive measures (drainage system, septic tank, new cover) were taken to minimize the impact of the landfill on the environment. In 2000, representatives of the Canton of Jura and the BCI (an umbrella group for 8 Swiss chemical companies) signed an agreement targeting complete the cleanup of the site by 2013.

In 2011, the Minister of the Environment and Public Works of the Canton of Jura, Philippe Receveur, granted a green light on the excavation of waste.  Since the pilot phase started, more than 1000 tons of waste have been excavated and treated. The Operation is carried out in a controlled manner, which guarantees the safety of employees, the surrounding population and environment.

The EDGE® Slayer shreds the waste and opens any closed containers. The shredded waste is then taken into a preparation hall where it is analyzed and stabilized if necessary. The waste is then shipped in sealed, purpose built train carriages to 2 incineration plants. Once complete the entire plant will be demolished & decontaminated and the site returned to nature.

Darragh Cullen – EDGE MD commented; “The EDGE® Slayer is providing a key role in processing waste landfill rehabilitation. After much consideration and many trials it became clear that the Slayer was the only machine capable of handling this material to the satisfaction of the customer.  Our ability to offer a tailor made solution to address this specific health and safety threat demonstrates our flexibility and our willingness to work with our customers to develop unique solutions”  A key feature of the Slayer is the PLC computer which includes built in safety features.  Some of the key features of the Slayer are its compact & robust design along with its excellent accessibility. The custom shafts provide consistent uniform material sizing, producing material to be safely rehandled after processing.”

With the success of the first Slayer assisting in the process land reclamation, a second machine is currently being commissioned by BCI Betriebs-AG.
